Game freezes after clicking "Disband TF"

So I tried to disband my TF and after clicking it text appears "disband? yes/no" and then game just freezes, after trying to clicking yes, window "yes/no" disappears but still cant press any button
Fixes and beta are installed
In properties I wrote this "-px1920 -py1080 -skipVideo -dd_sw -deepColor -multiaudio -fd -SingleCpuOrders -cpu4 -w-altFont -fixedArt -noFire" and actually changing it or try to run without any didnt help
Disabling audio and video didnt help
Freezes after trying to disband any TF
Everything else worked perfect as I played

Any help will be appreciated

To prevent accidental disbanding (which can mess up TF makeup and leadership) you must press the Y or N key on the keyboard to confirm your choice. There are several other places in the game that use that keyboard confirmation, like disbanding units or withdrawing ships etc.

The problem was not about pressing buttons on keyboard but your message gave me an idea
The problem was with Japanese language keyboard
I don't know why but it made game freeze if I had it instead of English one, but now all works fine

I was also troubled by the same issue (Japanese keyboard). However, after upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, the 'Y' key started working again. I hope this example is helpful to you.

Don't wish to highjack the post but had a similar issue of my own making.
In my haste I accidentally pressed the * T * key instead of * Y * the game then locked up.
Did this two or three times before realising my mistake, have not made the same error since.
But I was wondering how to exit the selection process Y/N dialogue box without exiting the game.

You can't. More to the point why it locks when the t key is pressed mine doesn't so maybe something to do with your computer set up.

There's been more post on this disband process then just about anything since it's inception. Should tell the designer it's not popular and for all those who make a mistake, tough, just get on with it.

How do you know it is not popular? A survey of one person or just those complaining about it? If I recall correctly, this was specifically asked for.

That should have been requested when this first came out. Now it may be too late.

I'm pretty sure there were multiple people complaining about need to confirm TF disband when the first beta patch dropped. And they were told the confirmation was a deliberate change that had been requested. The rational given was something like sometimes people accidentally mis-click and disband task forces after they had paid PP to choose the commander.

I've no idea how many people requested the change. Regardless of how many people asked, showing the confirmation for every TF disband isn't the best way to address the given rational. It will just train people to always say yes to that dialog option, and won't cause them to remember that they paid PP to choose that TF commander and consider if they really want to disband that TF. Instead the dialog should only be shown if people have paid PP to choose the TF commander. If the dialog only appears occasionally, they are more likely to stop and think, especially if the dialog mentions that they paid PP to choose the commander. (If that isn't practical, maybe something like only show the dialog if the TF commander is not the captain of one of the TF ships).

I'm pretty sure that people also assumed that the fact that the confirmation was keyboard only was just a bug, and that it would be fixed. (And we still haven't heard anything from anybody in the know about whether the keyboard only bit was intentional, or a bug. And the total radio silence from the patch team on that aspect of the issue means that it keeps festering. If the keyboard only bit is a bug which will be fixed, then please say so).

That remembering part of paying the PPs for the TF commander is another bit of data to be collected, remembered, and sorted through. Maybe slow down the game some more and add one more thing that can be a problem . . .

Remember, you can always play the .1126 release or even find the earlier updates that you prefer to play.
