Sometimes I make a mistake...Looking for this TF last turn but could not find it to redirect to a safe island. Sratch one company of marine infantry. I bet the californians of the 40th div dont give a s... after thier losses at Canton. Talk about a haircut.

Since the turn was nearly done this morning, I was hoping to surprise my opponent by an immediate flip. Well...needed about 10-15 more minutes but the clock chimed in for work. Ohhhh....well...just sent over.

Was trying to be funny on my email earlier...ain't my fault that you have 2.5 billion TFs running around!

That landing at Canton was pretty costly for the Allies. For a Naval Guard and CD unit, we mostly gutted an American Infantry Division (4500-5000 total casualties). NICE! The CD did pretty well hitting LSTs and that LSD. Pretty good shooting boys. We'll remember your record when you return and rebuild in Tokyo prior to next deployment.

Did have the boys get a lick in on the second day:

That CL Nagara TF was supposed to sweep into the landing hex and then return. NOT! Just decided to stay in the hex and serve as target practice. Ooops. Cost me an old CL that didn't need to die YET!

John 3rd:
That landing at Canton was pretty costly for the Allies. For a Naval Guard and CD unit, we mostly gutted an American Infantry Division (4500-5000 total casualties). NICE!
Funny, Big Red's screenshot of the Canton battle shows the IJ side losing 4300 troops and the Allies only 478.

Hey Sir!

ASA: 1-2 Ft 6 Japan 1918 (109 Squads), 78 Guns, 24 Veh to Allies 2315 (143 Squads), 38 Guns
Day 2--11-24
ASA: 4-1 Ft 2 Japan 498 (50), 19 Guns, 4 Veh to Allies 1634 (70) 42 Guns 3 Veh

Day 3--11-25
ASA: 14-1 Ft 0 Japan 4,296 (327), 46 Guns, 28 Veh to Allies 478 (29)

This does not include all the landing casualties during the three day period. That total is roughly 527 (24 Squads), 22 Guns, and 7 Vehicles. Rough total is 4,954 (266 Squads).

Anyone remember???
Yes, I do. Especially the Battle of the Komandorkis, and Capt. Bertram Rogers's superb salvo chasing on the Salt Lake City.
Civil war? What does that mean? Is there any foreign war? Isn't every war fought between men, between brothers?

November 29-30, 1943
Regional Report

Damn. A very entertaining and pretty good pair of days for Japan. Not perfect but pretty darned good in multiple regions of the map.

NOPAC
The brawling IN DEAD WINTER continues.

Cold Bay--A group of 5 American DDs moves into the area where they are met by a pair of MTB and then a trio of MTB. I truly HATE American PT Boats and that reason is flipped here as an MTB puts TWO Torps into DD Harding sinking her.

Kodiak--Several American TFs land the American 7th ID and 4th Marine Division. CD hits several targets and the landing is COSTLY. The Landing generates 1471 troops but lose 234 Guns and 253 Vehicles. Damn. When they attack, the two IDs show less then 100 AV each. They'll improve but that is pretty bad for starting out.

LOTS of American SS in the NOPAC! Am trying to deal with them...

Central Pacific
Enemy is moving off after capturing Canton and several dot bases.

Japan still hold the Line Islands and Baker.

SOPAC
A roving Japanese DD appears at Tanna (below Luganville) and sinks an SC.

An American SS does sink a crippled Japanese DD as it limps towards Lunga. Very sad!

Japanese CTF moves due east then north over the two days.

Burma
HEAVY ACTION!

Ramree Isle--Two Japanese DD sink a pair of MTB.

Prome--As detailed by my noble opponent earlier, two Allied Corps meet up at this base. A hodge-podge of Japanese Regiment and Brigade-sized units including a badly battered 46th ID prepares for the inevitable attack.

Having noted Allied tendencies, Imperial Command at Rangoon orders nearly ALL Japanese Fighters to CAP Prome. Rangoon is left without CAP. The enemy SHOULD be coming to strafe and attack. Orders are clear: George and BADDEST of BAD BOYS--MISTER FRANK (making its debut) take 9,000 Ft, Tony take 7,000 Ft, and Tojo has 5,000 Ft. If the enemy strafes or bombs, he will come in LOW. If the enemy escorts his attackers, he will be down LOW. If the enemy Sweeps, then he will get the bounce but then be DOWN LOW! We FIGHT.

Lordy--Lordy...the enemy comes just as hoped and is massacred! Fighters of all sorts are jumped and pummeled by the unexpected Japanese move. Each of the days start with nearly 170 Japanese Fighters waiting for the incoming attacks. Each days sees 10-14 attacks coming at the Japanese troops and only a few (B-24s) get thru at all. It is a LOVELY sight! The Allies are stung and hurt these two days. Nice Work: BANZAI!!!

The ground attacks are very tough. Considering there are 6 ID-sized units attacking this base, it is a small miracle that the Japanese barely hold off BOTH attacks:

November 29th sees a 1-1 assault dropping Forts down to 3: Japan 3,531 (57 Squads), 74 Guns, and 38 Vehicle for Allied 1879 (41 Squads), 63 Guns, and 120 Vehicles

November 30th sees a 3-1 assault dropping Forts to 2: Japan 3,301 (122 Squads), 64 Guns, and 24 Vehicles for Allied 1,832 (20), 42 Guns, 94 Vehicles.

Soooo...the air aces do all that could be expected of them by shooting down 200 enemy planes (11 new aces, 3 double aces, and 1 triple ace) for about 40 losses. The ground component does what it has to do. IT HOLDS! This allows two more days for troops to move and position themselves for the next fight.

Akyab--A Japanese STF of 1 BC, 2 CL, and 5 DD sweep into the harbor to find LOTS of targets. Down go an AK, 2 APc, 1 LCM, 1 MTB, and an LCT. As the TF withdraws, it runs into an American DD TF of 8 DD led by Adm Callaghan. The USS Murray and Dyson are sunk with another crippled. The remaining five are all damaged. Unfortunately, three Japanese DDs are seriously damaged and forced to separate from the Big Boys. The Allies attack these damaged ships with Beaufort, Beaufighters, and a Squadron of SBDs. Though some long-range Japanese CAP does (somehow) appear, it isn't enough. Three Japanese DDs are sunk in exchange for 20-30 enemy planes.

China
The Japanese slow assault from the north continues to occur. Chungking is the target but things are very slow-going.

In a change of pace, Japan moves its Heavy Bomber Force of 3 27-Plane Daitai of LIZ into China. A large group of ZERO and OSCAR arrive as well to fly escort. The Heavy Bombers hit Chungking's AF in several strikes and the large number of Japanese escorts as well as Sweeping TOJO crush the 35-40 Allied Fighters trying to defend the AF. By November 30th, the AF is 90% damaged. NICE!

Japan starts the war with 1 27 Plane Daitai and then gets one more Daitai per 9-10 months until it reaches a peak strength of 4 Daitai. This long-range force is nice to have the but the first version of the LIZ is awful, and the 2nd version is better but only about a B-17C/D. Want the RITA but tat isn't until 1945...

There is your update. Will Post several screenshots.
