KB not wanting to reload with torpedo's ?

Post by scout1 »

I have the KB an issue with the KB not loading torpedo's .....
Within radius of an Air Fleet w/ torpedo's but Nagumo is being stubborn about loading these ....
What should I be looking for to address this situation ?

nevermind ..... apparently merely needed to change from Naval attack to anything else and magically indicates we have torpedo's ... Curious though why this didn't change status w/o changing Op mode ?

Unless they are set to Naval Attack, the "Using TORPEDOES" text will always be in red - regardless of whether the CV (or base) actually has torpedoes available or not.

Lokasenna's post answers the question if you were looking at the air unit for indication of torpedo availability, but I thought you might be referring to the ships not showing torpedoes loaded?

I presume your comment about Naval Attack (incorrect) was what you looked at on the first day and then you changed it and looked on the second day to see there were magically torpedoes? Can't think why else you would say Naval Attack does not show torpedoes present.

This could happen if you were loading at a small base with AKEs or AEs. It is easy for a massive fleet like KB to use more ops points to replenish than the AKE has, so you need to wait for next day for the torpedo replenishment to take place. I think bombs and ammo are replenished before torps.

To reload carrier torpedo sorties, you need level 7 port (or smaller port with enough naval support), or AKE ship.

Air HQs got nothing to do with carrier torpedo sorties.

Maybe you need to have double the required supplies at the level 7 port in order to get torpedoes. At least it seems to work that way for land based planes.

No, supplies at the base have nothing to do with allowing a reload, except that there are enough of them. To rearm a ship check the manual p284, 20.1.2.2. Last page of the table deals with carrier rearming. You can see the rearm level for torps is 1500. That means you need a port size 7 or above to rearm at the port provided it has supply to allow the rearm. Anything lower than a size 7 port requires NS devices, found in various units, but large numbers are in naval HQ's. You can also use an AKE as Japan to reload, but the AKE would need a cargo capacity =>1500, have supply on-board, and be disbanded in a port.

Land based planes OTOH require an air HQ to be within range and have a supply of torps.
