JAPANESE PBEM OPPONENT WANTED

Post by spence »

I only play Allied (the rose has long since faded from the rose re production of "wunderwaffen"). I'll play the BIG B Scenario (197 I think) - with or without the stacking limits file) for 2-3 years or so against any Japanese opponent. You get to choose how long the game should last. I'll take however many game point are awarded at the end of the game/6 months into the game we get into. Victory determined by points. Two day turns mandatory but I guess you can change that to hang around PH after the first turn surprise if you'd like to (seems like that a good way to lose a bunch of veteran pilots but there's a way to do it posted on the forums). Certainly open to private discussion

I currently have a PBEM with Spence. He's reliable and consistent when it comes to sending turns and you won't need many house rules with him either. Plus he'll give the Japanese a good show in the first year when a lot of other Allied players are running for India and Australia. Highly recommended.

Hello,
What version are you talking about ?
I'm interested in playing the Japanese, 2 rounds/day, I have version 1.8.11.26b and RHS installed on my computer. ;)

I also have the Beta version 1.8.11.26b on my computer. I don't have RHS.

The version of the game is the Big B version which has a few changes to even the Beta. The biggest changes are that the Chinese OOB has been changed somewhat. There are now 3 types of Chinese units: Central Army Corps (which can move and have German/Russian armaments), Regional Corps (which vary in strength but are relatively strong. Some can move; some may not move until retreated by combat ), and Warlord Corps which are pretty weak and can't move unless they are retreated. New garrison requirements absorb advancing troops (either Chinese or Japanese) so that any advance loses troops to garrison its advances. The effect is to make China less attractive and beating the Brits/US more attractive. Also there are some extra bases/dot hexes in China and Burma (maybe some other places too). US torpedoes (Mk 13,14, and 15) are partially fixed also to 50% effective in March 42. There a "readme" that goes along with the downloads.
The downloads are at: https://sites.google.com/site/bigbsshipyard/home

I have played one game of the Big B Mod. I recently had to get a new computer so in reloading all the stuff again I reloaded the "stacking limits" file in about April of 1944 (game time). Because I had not loaded the stacking limits file before I suddenly found my troops were using much more supply than they had because they were way over-stacked.

Just so you know I probably can't manage two turns/day. I live on the West Coast of the USA so that's about 9-10 hours difference in time anyways What I meant was that each turn represents 2 day turn (one order phases lasts for 2 days). BTW I see that you are French and from Nice. (Way back) When I was in the Coast Guard I visited Nice. I've been to France several times also visiting Normandy, Verdun, the Vosges, Sedan and the French parts of Belgium.

If you want to discuss further PM me

Hello Spence,
I sent you a private message...
I forgot to specify that I would like to start the game in "ahistorical" mode, because for me, Pearl Harbor is a tactical error.
Good day.

Not a problem with the ahistorical start. Didn't get the PM for some reason. You can send a pm to: grnmtgrl@comcast.net
