Update
  • Missing Report - Amphibious assault at hex
  • Missing Report - Sub vs Sub at hex
  • Fixed a issue with loading map files that could happen to some users
  • Added a safety mechanism so the app writes to a txt file "failed.txt" the reports that tried to be parsed but failed and could cause a crash, instead the app resumes normally without the failed reports
Nomad wrote: Sun Aug 07, 2022 3:00 am Need to report, I now have the last 31 days of my PBEM available and it seems to be working properly.
Thanks for reporting Nomad. I also received a archive of a save for 1944 which allowed me to add a few missing reports and check performance.
Also, the same user reported a similar issue to the one you had, a archive folder I'm able to load but they were not. So I've added a safety mechanism as I mentioned above. If you want you can now try to load the archive you previously sent, it should work and reports that fail will be written to a "failed.txt".

What would be the use case for this?

I have these two errors, it does not tell me what day they occured

a Type KD5 class SS is moving to 191,106.

a Type L4 class SS is moving to 53,99.

If I had a way to trim the days I would not have to scroll down to find the current day

Update
  • Fixed a bunch of reports that could break (I believe this is what caused issues to some users)
  • Reports are now sorted descending by day (most recent day appears on the top)
Nomad wrote: Mon Aug 08, 2022 2:35 am If I had a way to trim the days I would not have to scroll down to find the current day
Just made it sort days descending so current day appears on top.
Not really worthwhile to have date range selection just for that, also from my test of the 1944 save I received the app continues to be very fast even with a huge archive like that, so no performance concerns either.

Thanks for this, nice tool.
Would it be possible to assemble together all combat reports for air attacks against same hex? If such repetitions could be just reordered, it would be enough.

Caine,

I would suggest trying the War in the Pacific Archive Searcher tool by 12doze12 (same developer as this tool). Be sure to read the instructions in the OP. You will need to have processed at least one turn with the -archive switch enabled for this to work.

Once the Searcher tool is running, click the "History Search" tab at the top, then search for something like "air attack on BASENAME" where BASENAME is your desired base. Some other suggested queries:
  • "air attack on LCUname" (where LCUname is the enemy LCU you are attacking, useful for a non-base land hex)
  • "air attack on TF" (useful for attacks against naval task forces)
Or just start with "air attack", scroll around to find the appropriate wording of your desired report, then modify your query as necessary. The Searcher tool is ideal for following the history of a ship, base, type of aircraft, attack type, etc. You can even search for unique terms such as "massive explosion" or "collision" to see every instance something happened in one of your battles.

Looks like I must have done something wrong. I am on windows 10.

I downloaded from the link in post 1
Ran the .exe and it asked for Net 6.0
I clicked yes to download
Downloaded and installed.
Re-ran the application and it said I needed NET framework.
I click download and nothing happens

I deleted the app and re-downloaded and ran it and it still gives the same message

Net 6.0.8 is installed.

Now what?

Try to download and install .NET Framework manually: https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/down ... -framework
Version 4.8 should be fine

Won't install from the link. Says it is already there. Tool says it isn't but the download link doesn't work.

Can only guess that there is some issue with the .NET Framework installation, can try to uninstall and install again.

I had thought of that. I uninstalled everything (Net and the tool) and reinstalled. No difference.

Just in case, be sure to install ".NET Desktop Runtime 6.0.8", as first I installed ".NET Runtime 6.0.8" but it was not enough. Perhaps that could be your problem.

Hi all,

Sorry if this is considered necro'ing, but the link in the original post does not to be working anymore so I was hoping if someone could share the original zip-file (as I'd love to try this tool).

Thank you in advance!

Best regards, RPS
