Adding Squads in the Editor

Post by John 3rd »

Hello All.

I am working on a Mod and wonder if one can add to reinforcing squads for the army or navy of a country within the Editor. How does one do that? For example if I think the Aussies should get more army squads/month, how is that done? Can that be done?

Wouldn't increasing the "build rate" for the relevant nationality and squad type do the trick?

Altering the build rate won't necessarily increase the replacement rate to a unit, just increase how many are available as replacements. Device replacement rate to a unit is based on supply and I beleive, current size of the unit with those below 50% geyting preference but I couldn't swear to that.

John,

Increasing the build rate should work for most of the allies. however, remember that most of the IJ forces run off of the economy, not the build rate. This is done by setting the "Can build Flag" to YES and the build rate to 0, allowing the economy and the demand to drive construction.

For the allies, you generally want the "Can build Flag" to NO and some non-zero build rate. This forces just that many units to be built monthly. When you set the "Can build Flag" to YES and some non-zero build rate, then the build rate is no longer fixed exactly. I know that it won't necessarily build the non-zero rate specified, but I don't know if it treats the value as a max or a guideline. Sorry, I rarely play the allies and so haven't watched this ...

I just know that Engineers (251) are set Can build YES and 1200/month, and I know that as IJ if I set them to stockpile the only engineers that will be built are those for new arriving units.
