Historical US B-17 Pilot: Gene Roddenberry

Post by FDRLincoln »

The creator of Star Trek, Gene Roddenberry, flew B-17s in the Pacific as a pilot in the 394th Bomb Squadron, 5th Bombardment Group, 13th Air Force, beginning as a second lieutenant piloting a B-17E in late 1942. He flew 89 missions and was awarded the DFC and Air Medal.

Obviously he should be included in any Mod worth its name! :)

Damned RIGHT! Never thought about that. His WWII experiences really shaped his views as to how the world SHOULD be.

This is part of what makes AE so great! With all the different contributors/historical enthusiasts who helped create the game and their collective knowledge, just about every little quirk and detail is present. You would never find such detail in any game made by any other company. Well done AE team!
