Skip forward not much going on. I got a turn of clear weather and with the frontline with so much holes I easily encircle another 8 units including 3 mech.
German army alone is now almost as strong as all the allies together so that is nice.
Happy new 1942. Champagne flows in Berlin and Rome as the war is fairly succesfully waged. That the US have entered the war is conveniently forgotten [:)].
Situation in the east northern part. Soviet army almost under 1000 very good news.
One pocket with 3 units (1 mech corps alrady eliminated) in the crimea and I create a pocket around Rostov. Some units might get put by boat but still it is only February and everywhere there is wide open land to advance into.
Mopping up units continues. Not much resistance any longer. I push every rail line east as much as I can.
Otherwise not so much going on. My subwar is more or less lost. I still have 8 subs but they have started taking some damage all the time so they are not out as much. So ComadrejaKorp have done much better than I did with the BoA.
The race towards the oil is on. Not even summer yet and Italian armour 5 hexes from Grozny. With good weather I can encircle Stalingrad next turn. Destroyed another 6 units this turn and Sovier army stays between 1000-1100 strength.
Why are the Russians defending so heavily in the north? Did their capital relocate up there rather than one of the cities to the west connected to Siberia?
I guess that he is using the better defensive terain in the north. Also he need to be sure that the LL route from Mursmank/Arskhangel is not cut by axis units.
I think the railroad south was cut so difficult to reinforce that area. And defending in the North is easier.
I think he can rebuild in the Urals and the allies have overcome the submarines more or less so the game is not over. Concentrating in one area might be the thing to do and then try to stage a comeback. But it is very far from Kazan to Berlin.
How is the partisan situation in the East. Does Germany still need to leave a division in almost city or can they be chased down with 2 or 3 divisions?
If they spawn and very few have so far they can be chased down. I barely think about the partisans and deal with it if a problem shows up. I do use some garrisons especially if I want that caucasus oil to come back to Germany I will need to secure that very long railroad.
Stalingrad encircled. Grozny fall. I cut the raillines so supply for the 2 units in the south should be bad. Unless the port helps but the port cant trace anywhere. I wonder how that works. Can it trace through Turkey and all the way to Archangelsk?
Astrakhan falls and next turn I could invade Baku but maybe not necessary we will see.
