AUGUST 29, 1941

Both Russian isolated units were liberated as my units retreat at the first sign of trouble.

Meanwhile, on my turn, a couple more high odds holds by the Russian Army. I am so frustrated that I forgot to take screenshots. Suffice to say that AGN is getting an A+ so far, but AGC and AGS are both getting failing grades.

A British Fleet, without transports, is cruising around in the Med just to prove they can. Not sure what they are up to, but the Italian Fleet rebases.

SEPTEMBER 12, 1941

Rain in the blizzard zone halts the Axis advance in Russia.

AGN. The Murmansk railway is cut. So at least there will not be any Winter Lendlease. I isolated a Russian Army last turn. But it's destruction will have to wait a turn.

SEPTEMBER 26, 1941

I have renamed this AAR "The Big Whine", because rereading it that appears to be all I have done. We are only 2 years into the game and already I have whined about the following:

1. The RN finding and sinking my U-Boats in port at Kiel (my very first post). This was, of course, a brilliant move on MMs part to capitalize on my stupidity of not having AA in the hex (but he still had to get lucky).
2. My Paratrooper failing to capture Oslo with a 5-1 Attack. Which again was my blunder in not having an invading unit as well (though this has always worked for me before).
3. The Allies finding and sinking my transports off the coast of Narvik.
4. Escorts sinking my 4 Strength U-Boat in 1940 (which coupled with 1 above made me decide not to build anymore of the useless things).
5. The RN finding and sinking my CA off the coast of Narvik.
6. Severe Winter delaying Barbarossa.
7. The 15 hits scored on my Infantry Corps near Tobruk when it only inflicted 1 itself.
8. The generally poor results of AGC and AGN in forcing Russian units to retreat.
9. The rain in the Arctic zone on the first September 41 turn.

So if you are tired of hearing a grown man whine and complain you will probably want to stop reading right now. If not, don't say I didn't warn you.

BECAUSE I GOT @&%#IN RAIN AGAIN ON MY 2ND SEPTEMBER 41 TURN. The odds of both September 41 turns being rain is only 1%, so I do think I have cause to whine and cry.

However, I did score some limited successes. For example, after 4 tries I was able to destroy a surrounded Russian Army.

And the Italians captured Stalino. The German attack on the Russian unit to the North was, of course, rebuffed.

So in a way, we could say you do your whining in the rain [:D]

(I can only hope we are all old enough for the reference not to be lost)[8D]

One of my favourite movies. I actually met a Don Lockwood once, but he didn't even know he was a Gene Kelly character in a movie. Don't think he was impressed when I told him either.

Maybe you will get a cold December...that crushed me once as Russia...It had not blizzarded yet and suddenly all these panzers full full on and smashed Moscow into rubble.

OCTOBER 10, 1941

No whining this turn as October turns cold. Since my units in AGC have done nothing the last two turns they are well rested. This coupled with the fact that they are joined by some friends from AGN and some actual good "rolls" means that they are able to force a Russian tank corps to surrender and isolate 3 Russian units.

Examples of some of my attacks, including a successful 1-1 across the river.
