Division sized land unit mod.

Post by seydlitz22513 »

I have just started modding the land units to divisional size for Cav, Para, Mech, and Armour. I personally prefer Mech and Armour units to be division-sized.[;)]

And then cam be combined into larger formations? I think this is good for building. The naval units have a very long lead time since you cannot purchase them in increments so the actual construction time is the time saving up the PPs plus the actual build time. The cost of the ships wasn't like this and it actually occurred to me because Alvaro has infantry unit break down which is very cool.

Only inf divs, corps, and armies can be broken down. This was done so a specific garrison unit wasn't made.

It was also done to have some small corps and armies abstractly representing stacking of land units.

It was also done to mimic what Germany did late in the war reducing divisions from 3 battalions to 2 reducing their mobility for attack while keeping their defensive firepower.

WarPlan is generally a corps level game.

Now you can make all units division sized or other sizes and have a fixed size scenario. Like Campaign for North Africa where it is all divisions.

Or invasion of Malta at a regiment scale.

The designs in WarPlan are mostly made for the scale of the game.
