Cool. Now work on the A.I. version, please. Or, do we have to wait another 10 years?

I take it you have not visited this site in the last few months. Forget the AI for the forseeable future.

Very blunt Mr. warspite but at least it's truthful instead of the heming and hawing around here [&o] I said what I thought about the AI being implemented in the beta forums today, but I wont post it here [:(]

You're right. I have not checked this site in a few months. What's the bad news with the A.I.? I will see what I can find with a search, but if you could point me to a post that would be wonderful.

If they have dropped it I will be rather upset.

[edit] I see all the postings about no progress on the A.I. Very disappointing. $100 down the tubes in my opinion.

The plan of action to sort this game out was agreed a few months back. The AI has not been dropped, but it is toward the end of a very long queue (in terms of time). Supply, Production/Convoy and Naval issues (+ any game stoppers) are first for sorting. Based on how long it is taking to get Supply knocked on the head, this process will likely take some time yet. Net Play is the next to be looked at after these.

I am already using the beta version of the patch 1.2.0.7. Are there any changes from the beta version to the official version?

Do I need to download and install the official version too?
The automatic updater program says I am already up-to-date with the last beta version of the patch. Please advise.

Both are the same.

I understand people being disappointed that there is no AI. I will be happy when it arrives myself!
But "$100 down the tubes?"
I have no relation to this product, the designers or the distributor - in fact, I'm a retired youth ministry worker who couldn't program a VCR, let alone a complex game! But having enjoyed the board game close to two decades ago I was THRILLED to get the game, plus three hard bound volumes explaining the rules, plus numerous videos explaining the game - all for $99!
I got my money's worth in the first couple months. I just got the "upgrade" and after figuring out how to download and install (remember, I'm a total cyber-moron!) I started a brand new game of Global War and am having a blast!
In terms of computer games and re-playability, I have never gotten a better bargain. I'll be playing this for years.
Eventually against an AI that will most likely kick my butt! [:)]

Complete waste of money. Didn't buy the game to get maps, rules, etc, nor to play with myself. Bought the game because Netplay was claimed to be functionality, bar some minor blemishes that would not impact on the majority of user play. What a load of horse shit.

Given the constant evolution nature of those rules, I seriously doubt of the interest of having "three hard bound volumes" explaining the rules...

The rules for MWiF are fixed based on RAW 7. Whenever RAW 8 are finalized which may be never, MWiF will most likely not change then either. So for this game the rules contained in the bound manuals will not be changing anytime so they will be a good investment [:)]

I am waiting on the 1 map scenarios. I can't imagine they are too high on the list though.

As far as I know, no. I have not had a game ruined when downloading a new patch.
