I know it's far from fatal but it's irritating as heck. Is it possible to get rid of it?
I don't get the UAC warning message when I run version 3.2.0. So it has to be something that was done between version 3.x.x & version 4.x.x that's causing it.

That did it! THANKS!!!!!ORIGINAL: BrianJH
Right-Click the MWIF.EXE file and select Properties.
Then select the Compatibility tab.
If "Run this program as an administrator" is ticked, untick it, click Apply, then OK.
Now check and see if MWIF runs ok.
Sorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I have been getting the User Account Control message every time I start MWiF. I did have "Run this program as an administrator" checked, but unchecking it (and restarting my computer) did not cause the UAC message to go away. Anyone have any ideas about how to fix it (barring nuking UAC completely, which strikes me as a bad idea)? I am running Windows 11 Home.rkr1958 wrote: Wed Feb 24, 2021 1:11 amThat did it! How do you actually run the program? By double clicking on the shortcut? If so, try right click once of the shortcut and then select run as administrator, following which you'll be asked by WIN11 to allow (or not). But, of course, allow to run.Courtenay wrote: Wed Feb 01, 2023 4:10 pmSorry to resurrect a dead thread, but I have been getting the User Account Control message every time I start MWiF. I certainly can understand that.Courtenay wrote: Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:04 pm Yes, I double click on the shortcut.
If I click on "Run as Administrator", I get the UAC message, and when I try it again, I still get the UAC message.
My goal is to drive a stake through the heart of the UAC message.
What folder is MWIF installed. If it is the default location of "C:\Program Files (x86)\Matrix Games\World in Flames\" then that might explain the behavior you are experiencing.Courtenay wrote: Wed Feb 01, 2023 8:04 pm Yes, I double click on the shortcut.
