Regarding disorganised convoys

Post by juntoalmar »

Hi!

If you have a ship in port out of supply, it will get disorganised when you move it. I understand the consequences for a SCS, but what about a convoy? Can it still be used to tranport supply to land units and to convoy resources while disorganised?

Thanks!

Never read any reason why a disorganized conv cannot transport anything.

So, they only difference between a disorg convoy and an organised one, is that it can't move until the end of the turn?

Yes. It can not abort voluntarily,

The rule was not intended for Convoys, IMO.

It's a bit weird (from the rules point of view) that a disorganised convoy can perform its tasks perfectly. It's like allowing disorganised battleship attacking other ships.

Particularly, because convoys can stay at sea indefinitely and they represent that are part of a convoy chain of merchant ships. It doesn't make sense to me that a merchant ship without supply could cross the Atlantic to carry resources.

It would have make more sense to me if disorganised convoys do not transport supply or resources. Still, good to know that port out of supply can resuply itself by moving a convoy out of it.

Well, the disorganized battleship do attack other ships if it is included in the sea battle. The thing it cannot do is provide shore bombardment, a naval move, debark, embark, or initiate naval combat.

Yes. It can not abort voluntarily,
It can abort voluntary if there was a naval battle in the sea area. What it can not do is a regular naval move.

It cannot abort voluntarily if not a consequence of a battle.
