Can't continue campaign - Game Freezes !

Hi,
Just got the game yesterday - d/l went very well (15 minutes !), and game is quite charming (I've always loved Ancients wargaming, to the point I still play late I-Magic 's Great Battles series [;)] )
Well, I was eager to crush some enemies under my boots [8D], so I started a campaign and crushed the Thebans .
But, after viewing the Granicus movie, after proceeding to the campaign "refit" (buy units/cards), when I click "continue", the game and the whole system entirely locks up with a "ding" sound [:@] (as if there were some error popup message but there's none).
Got the same results 3 times after loading the autosave... Game was running in 1152 res at first, then I've tried with 1024 too (same than desktop resolution), no difference.
I Suppose I just have to create another campaign, no big deal, but I fear the same crash will happen again .
Any ideas about what can cause the problem ?
I'm under Win98SE, 2400XP Athlon, ATI Radeon9600, latest drivers, could give more tech info later as requested.

Hi,

I'm not sure what could have gone wrong there. We've played through the campaign so many times in testing, we lost count. The fact that this also happens from the autosave is worrying, it's possible something got corrupted there.

What refit choices do you make in tersm of buying cards or units? I'm wondering if you've found some unusual combination that was not tested. I will also let the folks at Koios Works know about this, as they are the ones to really get into the game code and find out what's going on.

Can you e-mail your autosave file to erikr@matrixgames.com please? Thanks.

Posting a DxDiag file per the instructions in this forum would also be helpful.

I've been surprised myself from getting such a crash - this is the kind of things that can't go unnoticed during tests ! [:-] [:D]
Surely it's a weird config problem, hope it won't happen all the time ... [:(]

Same thing just happened to me, as I was loading for the Granicus battle, it just hangs at 50%. I haven't noticed any ping noises, but it just sits there at 50%. Has a solution for this problem been found?

Ok, this is strange. Now that I restarted my computer it worked perfectly fine. I guess it was a one time glitch or something. But still, this could be something to look into as it might happen again since I am not the only one who has experienced it.
