For Liberty Wont Start

Heeellp !

The game used to run fine for me ...

As far as I remember I did three things ...

Installed the officers demo ...
Installed a driver for my digital camera
Installed an update for a codec Windows Media Video 9 Advanced Profile Update Beta ... Now the game wont load ... just reports "Error!" in a standard windows box ... All I get is this and a brief flash of the hussar games splash screen ... any ideas !!! As I say never had any problems ... Tried the demo and I can only run it if I change my scrren to 16bit colour otherwise it reports an error in being able to change to 16bit colour.
I try and run the Matrix games logo avi in media player and it does not display ...

I would guess it is the codec for windows media especially when you mentioned "I try and run the Matrix games logo avi in media player and it does not display ..." Can you back that out?

Trying to find out exactly what it did - however replaced it with another avi file that does play and still get the same error ... I presume the game only knows the file name so would work otherwise ...

Just noticed my install of steel panthers has gone wierd as well - there now appears to be a second delay as it loads the sound effect for moving each unit GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR......
