Can't play by e-mail Also

Post by XLegion »

I read the reply about playing by e-mail. I followed the instructions but I still can't get it to work. This is what happens.

1.) Start as Americans and do the turn.
2.) Give it a special file name as instructed
3.) email to opponent
4.) Ok, this is where your instructions are 'sketchy'. You say 'open file'. Ok, the British player selects 'e-mail play' and then opens the file with the exclusive file name. I did not see any file named pbem_H1.sav because this must be your example I take it.
5.) It asks for a password. Presumable a new one for the British right?
6.) The password is keyed in and you then hit start. Nothing happens. You end up at the password screen. I use the space bar. Same thing - nothing happens.

So again, How do you play via email

The game has built in protection not to allow PBEM or TCP/IP games if both games have the same serial. You must have 2 copies of the game to play multiplayer. Hot-seat is the only multiplayer mode that works with 1 copy.
