Why no Undo button?

The Seven Years’ War was fought across the globe and called by some the first “World War” as virtually every major power participated. In the center of events was Prussia, almost constantly at war and lead by the now legendary Frederick the Great.

Relive the exciting and trying days of Frederick the Great in Horse and Musket: Volume I, the improved and expanded combination of the previous Prussian War Machine and Prussia’s Glory titles. Horse and Musket: Volume I is a reboot of the successful Horse and Musket series, including not only two solid historical titles in one package, but also many new game features, a powerful new editor, and a complete graphics overhaul to an already acclaimed gaming system.

Why no Undo button?

Post by blackcloud6 »

Why is there not an undo button to be able to change moves?

I just got this game in the December sale. I notice that you must deselect units before going on to the next unit. Many other games automatically deselect when you move on to another so this is a change form playing other games and can cause me to to move units where i don't want them to go. So why not allow undo if the move had no impact yet on the game?

I have the latest update possible from Matrix, so I assume, yes I have 1.12. So is there a way to do an "undo?"

That button does not show when I play the game.  So no, there is no re-do button.  Is there a setting to turn it on?

OK, I figured it out.  You have to unselect "Fog of War" prior to starting a scenario and then the undo button shows up.   I'll have to search the manual and see why i missed this.

Thanks for your help.

blackcloud6, you can play with FOW on and still cancel a move, provided the move didnt reveal any unspotted enemy unit(s).  Cheers!

As long as your move does not reveal any units you have not previously seen you should be able to "undo"

How?  No undo button shows up even if I move just one hex and no enemy are revealed.

There is never an undo button in PBEM, just doesn't exist. When you move into eZOC often your troops or the enemy lose moral, fall back, or perform another action. If there was an undo in PBEM, players could continually undo their advances to get better "results." I think its a good policy.

Well... just yesterday I was doing a move forward of cavalry units in a PBEM game. One of them I turned the wrong way and before I did anything else I looked down in th lower left, it showed the pointing officer with a red circle slash next to him. I clicked it just to see what it would do, and it changed the facing of the unit back and restored the movement point. So was able to undo the wrong turn. I never noticed this before. So it appear you can undo certain moves in a PBEM games. I gather it would be moves that don't cause any morale or disruption changes and such as i don't always see this happening.
