Victory Points ?

Post by Winterkeep »

Am I getting this right?

The Strategic atlas>Objectives>objectives List shows the NM (National Morale) value (not VP:s of each city as the rulebook says, "who owns each Objective and how many VPs it is worth").

VP:s are shown for each city in Strategic atlas>Regions>Victory Points column, but I can only see my own VP:s. To see the value of my opponent controled citys, I need to open the scenario as my opponent (change side).

A city can be worth up to 5 VP (rule book says "Strategic City – 1 VP/Turn
Objective City – 1-3 VP/Turn depending on the value set by the scenario")

Is the aim of the game really to go after the NM victory, and VP victory is secondary ?

Both, NM victory would represent a decisive victory of one monarchy being succesfully made King of Spain...if not (historical), VP difference is the key..

Thanks.

Could you please also confirm or correct the other statements.

And one more question, how do I earn Engagement Points ? Tooltip says "changes from cities", what cities ?

The cities you control will generate a certain number of engagement points each turn.

This is from Ageod Wiki:

The 'currency' used to 'buy' options that are earned by successful combat, captures, and by Merchants in certain ocean areas.

Also known as '''EP'''

== Earning EP ==

Engagement Points (EP) are the currency used for Military and Diplomatic Options. They
are earned in several ways:
*Capturing of Objectives and Strategic Cities
*Maintaining Merchant vessels in the Ocean Commerce areas
*by event using [[ChgFacEngagementPts]]

Note: EP's are earned every turn, and are accumulated until 'spent' on Options. Merchant vessels and events produce
messages telling you EP gain or loss, if any. Strategic cities give you 0.25 EP a turn (moddable), objectives produce from 0.1 to
0.3 each turn (moddable). You can see a list of all these sources in the Objective Page of the ledger.

To see the other side values, you can click on the special button in the Objectives List (on the top right above the chart) that will switch it to show the values of the opposite side.
