Game won't run

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

Game won't run

Post by Javolenus »

EDIT: OK, I got the game working by running the exe in compatibility mode (Win 95). Maybe this issue could be flagged on the game's webpage?

Hi There,

I just bought this gamr from Matrix (serial no. *removed*). The game installed OK on my laptop (Windows XP) but when I launch the game I just get a splash screen and music, but no game.

Could someone tell me how to fix this? Also, is the version I downloaded the most recent version, or do I need patches?

According to your website, the game's requirements are as follows:

Windows 95/98/2000/XP
DirectX 8.1
Pentium II 400 MHz CPU
64MB Ram
16 Bit Direct Sound comp. Soundcard
8MB Video Graphics Card 16Bit Color
8x CD-Rom
200 MB Free Hard Drive Space

My laptop and PC meet these requirements, so I'm puzzled as to why the game won't run. I'm even running my monitor on 16 bit color.

If there is a major problem running the game, please would Matrix consider a refund?

Many thanks!
