COTD Running well on Win 8.1

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

COTD Running well on Win 8.1

Post by Recognition »

Hi,

Ive got the original Campaigns of La Grande Armee 1806 running on my Win XP but its only one quarter of the screen size.
Anyway I decided to buy COTD and am happy to report that its working perfectly on my Win 8.1 system in full screen mode[:)]

Looking forward to getting into some Napoleonic planning and executing ( or not ) of orders.

Cheers

I am also using Windows 8.1, with no problems.

v3.03 has solved several issues and v3.04 is due out any time, but note the outstanding issues brought out in the AAR thread, particularly with the present unit counter format with a red box, you will not see red numerals showing how many tired stragglers each unit might have.

Chemkid is working on a mod which provides an improved map and new counters that will solve this problem.[:)]

Thanks for the info and AAR, hopefully the patch and the mod will arrive soon and I can get stuck in.
This game has always had great potential..

Cheers

It's running fine in Win10 technical preview also.  I've just been holding off playing until all these little issues get resolved.  Rasputista's AAR is just making it harder to wait for v3.04.

I've had a very enjoyable game in v3.03, but it was a surprise when some divisions were reduced to strength point 1, with no chance of having the replacements to restore them. When Chemkid started to change the colours on the counters, is when we found out that there was text in the red boxes and then all my missing soldiers appeared.

It is a simple fix to change the colour in the box and, as you can see from the later screen shots, all is revealed.[:)]

I have turns to write up for the AAR and am waiting for v3.04, before finishing the last 8 turns which are building to quite a climax.

Yes I can understand the confusion due to the counters.
Patience is a virtue possess it if you can........I CANT!!.....but maybe better to wait before starting a long campaign.

Any idea when 3.04 and the mod arrives? I guess we are waiting on Matrix as I read that Frank had uploaded it some time ago.

Yes, I have heard the same information about v3.04, Chemkid might be able to release the counters, but I know he has some work yet, to complete the map mod.

No harm in a little practice game [:D]
