AAR with tactical battles on SoW Waterloo

Frank Hunter's Campaigns on the Danube is an operational study of the campaigns along the Danube in 1805 and 1809. Campaigns on the Danube's system focuses on trying to present the player with the same sort of decisions placed on their historical counterparts; how to feed an army and move that army according to a plan, all the while trying to fight a campaign. There is also an option to allow players to play out the battles with miniatures and input the results.

AAR with tactical battles on SoW Waterloo

These guys played with the battles exported to Sourge of War: Waterloo:

Too bad they only played 4 turns and I can't find subsequent reports. I wish someone could do something like Field of War: Empires with separate combat resolution. I prefer turn based battles.

That looks like it must have been a lot of work, I assume SOW handles user created battles?

Yes, correct. I have SOWWL and I'm a NSD tester. In sow you can create ad hoc scenarios starting from a master OOB; the difference are that sow goes from Army to battalion level (with the soldiers number for each battalion and single cannon in a battery) whilst COTD stops at brigade level with each strenght unit representing 500 men.

So the problem is how to output an OOB that sow can read (is a csv file) then play the battle and revert that file into COTD format taking in account also fatigue and morale.

I think this is a HUGE work if not tecnichally impossible to achieve[:(]

Deleted. CotD has a Miniatures option for off-game resolution.
