Campaigns / Scenarios

Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

Campaigns / Scenarios

Post by CushVA »

Just learned about the game and have a Q about the Campaign / Scenarios. From the Matrix Press Release:
Standard Campaign from 1805 – 1815 as well as a variety of starting scenarios to expand or contract the timeline and allow more options over technology and upgrades

What are the other scenarios, and will you be able to play the entire 21 year period (from 1799 - 1820)?

We're still working out the exact list of scenarios. A scenario is basically a starting configuring: starting list of upgrades, units, provincial production values, etc. Scenarios have default lengths, but in any scenario the players can customize the victory conditions -- either to play for a fixed number of turns with the winner determined by the player with the greatest Glory, or to play the game as a race to a pre-determined Glory level. By setting these conditions players determine the length of the game they want to play. A very short game could possibly be completed in a single evening.
