First Battle

Just loaded the game up for a while - 1815 Scenario playing France - and sent everything I had into Belgium... I had about 130,000 troops to about 60,000 Prussians...

I had no idea what I was doing as I had not even bothered to read the manual - BUT... I had a good time beating up on the Prussians - I figued out the Charge button pretty quick...

What I saw:

1. AI uses cavalry pretty well - I had unprotected artillary on the road and they tried to hit it before I could use it - lead to a very large cavalry battle between 3 Prussian and 6 French units latter supported by arty... ( funny, the French never tried to surrender?? [:D] )
All Prussian units eventually broke and retreated to home..

2. AI set up an Inf and Art screen with the rest that I had to break w/ my Inf and Art - I had the advantage but tried to charge the Arty and could not ( rules say you can not charge arty if adj to Inf or Cav - so a way to simulate combined arms - nice )

3. British troops reinforce battle??? Didn't know this could happen but a large number of british Cav moved on my rear and supply wagons - I had already broken all the Prussians - but this is nice if this is how the game works - I later figured out that I could call in my own reinforcemnts - here I turned the game off...

The tactical screen reminds me of Panzer General - but plays a bit more sophisticated - which is all I think I really need for a game like this -
