Crown of Glory: Europe in the Age of Napoleon, the player controls one of the crowned potentates of Europe in the Napoleonic Era, wielding authority over his nation's military strategy, economic development, diplomatic relations, and social organization. It is a very thorough simulation of the entire Napoleonic Era - spanning from 1799 to 1820, from the dockyards in Lisbon to the frozen wastes of Holy Mother Russia.

It would be good if there where a facilty to edit in results if you wish to play the battles by a figure gaming or by a popular RTS battle game that was set up.[:)]

I agree - and can i put in an early request for plain text (unencrypted) savegames please, largely for this purpose?

The save game files are plain text and are not encrypted, per se, but I would describe the process of editing them by hand as technical.

It would be difficult to support external resolution of battles as the game is currently designed: the resolution of battles is rather too woven into the structure of the movement phase. In the PBEM version we are looking into designing, the external resolution of battles might be possible to do.

Sounds like it might be an "Interesting Challenge", then! Thanks again.

I came across Crown of Glory yesterday following a link. It looks superb. Like a lot of gamers out there, I'm always hoping that one day the holy grail of Napoleonic games will be released. Could this be it?
