go to the diplo page, click on veiw nations, then nations details, it will list the Majors, follow down the list, it will show the minors, look at any of the minors you have captured, if you can liberate them or turn them into Protectorates, it will have a little box with L/P on it, click that and during your turn, you will do so

watch, as France, a number of what you may think of as your home Provinces are Provinces that can be L/P also

Just adding that I think you have to click on the minor in the listing on the left side that HS talks about, to bring up the options you have with it - could be wrong.

you can click on it, or roll the screen, as long as you get past the Majors, you should be able to get to the minors and see what is listed

.... and .... only some of the provinces can become protectorates.  That's why only some provinces have the P/L buttons on the country details screen.

Think he means tell them to kiss the pinky ring or get smooshed like Nappy did frequently.

Yeah... liberate them, declare war, reoccupy.

If you liberate it you lose it... I want to change them to conqured status from protected status... [:D]

I've been doing the liberate, war, then conquer.  I was just wondering if there was a more direct way.

I know of only one way:  liberate it, declare war, and then send in the troops! [:D]

Maybe someobody else knows of another way.
