shooting allies

This sequel to the award-winning Crown of Glory takes Napoleonic Grand Strategy to a whole new level. This represents a complete overhaul of the original release, including countless improvements and innovations ranging from detailed Naval combat and brigade-level Land combat to an improved AI, unit upgrades, a more detailed Strategic Map and a new simplified Economy option. More historical AND more fun than the original!

I think that that is actually a good feature. Didn't realize it till I accidentally caught one of my own units at the wrong angle. At least in ACW, friendly fire was pretty common. It was very smokey and confusing out there I guess.

I too second the fact that it was not unknown for such things to occur. In my recent heavy reading on the topic of 18th century warfare, I bumped into more than one reference to it.

By the way, does the tactical game have smoke effects of any kind?

Yes smoke plays a significant role in detailed combat, both Divisional and Brigade-level battles. In some cases it completely blocks LOS if a lot of canon and infantry fire is concentrated in a localized area long enough.

Why do you think their uniforms were so garish?
