which just in case, the Ossites sent out some Cav to break up the screen to be sure, so, no reason to keep it up

but, they are in trouble already, nothing to save the day here, if they knew what was about to happen, they would already be running

not sure the AI is thinking, it is normally much better at supporting it's guns, but it is close to nightfall, so may be counting on night to protect it

most times, it is better to stand in place, once night falls, or just to tiddy up the lines some, but this has a chance to be a Major battle, so got to push the troops HARDer then normal

that Gun hurt, but it is mine now, the front line is breaking, and they are starting to learn there is not really a way out of the trap

now the pocket is complete (there were holes in it, but, HARD to get to) and it is all pounding them into the ground now

it is all over but the shouting, panic has set in, and troops are beginning to route left and right, with no where to go

losses were heavier then I expected, but that Gun was doing a good job of being a gun

9 ships were captured, but only one was kept, all those nice lovely SOLs, handed over for timber (well, that should save a forest or two back in France)

How is that decided, whether to scrap them I mean? What about the guns? Are they somehow factored into reduced cost of future ships? Thanks for the fun AAR.

for which ships you take, I think it is just a die roll, you really don't ever seem to get many of the ones you captured (but, they are kind of shot up and full of water most times :)

I defeated the Ossites, go to war with Prussia

I see a small Russian Group sneak into my lands with alot of Ossites as cover, I shatter them

but, as I am moving to take out the Prussians, I see more Russians are coming, using Ossiteland as a sheild, so decide to slip across the border myself and try to trap them

only, I did it too well, one of my supporting Corps, wasn't really in place to support, so when the Russians marched into the trap, I couldn't spring it, even worse, while it was going to be a even battle, the Russians were able to call for help, while I was not

a very good nasty battle followed

to start, I am in Vienna, so, even though I am on defence, I got no garrisons, or Ossites around

I pick a nice spot, and while it looked like the Russians should run right into the middle of it, I didn't feel compy, so left a Inf div off on my flank

a good thing, as the Russians out flanked me, and I had left my supply wagons as city guards (didn't expect them to hold, but just to keep the Russians honest, if they did flank me)

I was able to hold the first set of attacks at bay, while I started to shift my forces, then night fell, from what I could pick up, nothing to be worried about, but enough to have to work at it

I have routed the first Russian probe, and have set up a ambush, only will find out, the Russian is pinned or smart enough not to march though the trees, so got to start shifting, as, my other troops need some help

overall in a decent postion, other then the Cav that Squared me, my Inf to the flank can hold out vs two Inf, my Cav pins his other two, I am on the heights so will hammer the Inf in the vally, sneak the Gun someplace to do some damage, and off we go

only, I didn't count on the reinforcements being all (or mainly) Cav, and for them to come in on my flank, they tear into my Inf, I shift my Cav to save the Inf, do so, then get the Cav pinned, shift my other Cav to help, clear out the vally

(one thing for snaps, if you see the Cav Ghosted, that normally means it did a charge, and is disordered)

hmm HARD to believe that last snap was two hours after the one in front of it, lot of stuff going on, with every one staying in place

I have been able to save my Cav, move some inf up, and got the guns in the ville (only I didn't know it was a newly captured gun, so very weak on crew, and morale)

(with my background, I am not going to leave a unit out to dry, it may be a wargamer fault, but, it is the way I play and think, I got my Inf hammered, then got my Cav hammered to save them, then got another Inf and my Gun hammered to save that Cav)

I am hurting him, but he is hurting me, and I don't any reinforcements to help out

my flank is pretty much gone, my Cav is disordered, and prime for a charge if the Russian Cav keep coming

my line on the hill is strong, but shaky, one troop is under 2 in morale, two others are in the low 4s (I should be in the 6-7s)

lucky for me, the reinforcements were Cav, Cav stinks in a gun fight, they are best at flanking, and worrying Inf about there flanks, and squareing Inf for Arty

but, I have been watching the clock, I need night, I need rest and morale to regain, I need help !!!!

if he can break one more, I am going to be in trouble, one break and that will start to cripple the others, and with 4 inf in line, they are having trouble getting flank shots in, with 3, they will be able to pick on one and break him, and then the other two will crack

made it to night, things are looking good now, most of the enemy left is Cav, and I will be gaining in morale during the night, and they will be losing

which you may see in the south, my Cav had recovered, once in formation, they were able to hold the Russian Cav at bay

check the WTF, and see Panic has set in, the Russians are done
