Ironed out

Hi, tired of hearts of iron, looking for a new love. Would anybody care to make comparisons or observations, especially as to the ai.
The learning curves on these games are steep, so i need persuasion.

I have not played HoI so can't directly comment on that.  However, after reading the manual, playing the tutorials (twice) and trying a few of the small scenarios I think I finallt "get" it[:D].  I think it's a pretty neat game that only has few issues.  The Civil War era is not my first choice but I was looking for something different (plus I was reading Shelby Foote's Civil War at the time[&o]).
