Stupid Question! Dragging and Dropping.. can't

Post by lparkh »

I'm doing something really dumb. Have downloaded copy of game with latest patch. I cannot for the life of me drag and drop a unit. It simply switches to another leader when I left click drag and release (over a new region). I also tried dragging a tab.. no dice. Tried using right mouse button too. Searched forum. What the heck am i missing???!!!!

OK so I go back to try once more and suddenly it is dragging (naturally).
However now left clicking does not cycle me through units anymore. I must have changed "modes" some how...

I am having the same problem.

I have been sitting here literally for an hour, trying to drop `leaderless' units into various `containers'; Corps, Divisions, etc. They just won't meld.

I went through the tutorial again. it's a piece of cake there. But starting an actual game (1st battle scenarion), it just won't work. Maybe it's because it's a Battle scenario and not one of the Campaign scenarios. I gues I'll go see if that's the issue.

Hope I figure this out. It looks like a great game, if I can get it working!

Weird.

I went back, started a new game, and everything seems to be working.

Except for that I was completely wiped out.

At least the game's working though. [:D]

This can be a speed issue, if the computer is running very slowly the game. emcgman can you go to the options window, system tab, check 'trace errors' (or whatever it is exactly named) and then resume your game, once you select a stack and start to drag, check in the top left of the screen an indication in red named 'FPS'. If under 10, you are in trouble. Tell me.

this will not solve this problem but can cause you to reform units. In the setup there is a option to combine all containers in an area at the end of a turn. Make sure you disable this. I found that if you click on a container then go the the area you want to move it to rather than drag & drop manually it works much better.
Just so you know there are many of us out here (me included) that have gone through the long learning curve of a game such as this so do not feel you are the ONLY dumb bell out there :-)
