newbie ai modding questions

Post by waynev »

I have several questions re ai modding through the constants area

1. out of theater multiplier- does raising this ie x100 15 to x100 50 raise or lower the likelihood that the ai will leave it's current theater?

2. reluctanceScalex100 500-does lowering this to say x100 100 increase the likelihood of repaet attacks?

3. Does anyone have any feelings on modding camp values down a little to say 200?

Thanks for any replies and sorry if these have already been covered.

1.  Raising the number makes it more likely the AI will leave its theater.

2.  Lowering the number increases the chance / decreases the time after which the AI will fight a battle in a location in which it recently lost a battle (it's a little more complicated than that...but that's the general idea.)

Thanks for the reply.
What in your opinion would be suitable numbers to use to slightly decrease the reluctance interval figure and to strongly discourage ai to leave it's theater?

Well, if you raise the out-of-theater number to, say, 1000 then the AI will consider battles outside of its current theater to be ten-times worth fighting as battles within its theater, though the algorithm is a bit more complicated than that.  I guess at 100 it would treat in-theater and out-of-theater equally (well, it's a little more complicated than that...)

Try reducing reluctance by 10%-20% perhaps.

Which # is the one I should be changing the x100 or the 15?

The 100 is part of the name; change the 15.
