I don't remember one. Anyone who tries a mod for later in the war would face the problems I was alluding to in the FOF expansion thread: for any post-1861 scenarios to work well, Eric would have to do new programming. The reason for this is that some aspects of the game would start off as if it were 1861 -- for example, an 1863 scenario would start with neither side having any research upgrades, because right now the code doesn't let one use moddable data files to assign them. Ideally, an 1863 scenario would start with both sides knowing about field fortifications, having better sharpshooters, etc. Another problem is that one would need to set the victory points and national will, so that, say, in July 1864 the North is despairing. There are a few other problems like this that really can only be solved by adding code that lets one assign such info through data files. So while one could easily enough create a scenario with armies corresponding to the situation in July 1863 or Sept. 1864, etc., other elements of the game would be decidedly 1861ish.

You're welcome.

I guess one could make an early-1862 scenario and get away with it, especially by adding a bunch of extra research-producing buildings, which would at least let both sides get upgrades more quickly even if they start with none. And if certain generals are dead, like Johnston, one could just give them a 0% chance of showing up.

To be honest, I can't remember all of the little things that make later scenarios a problem for now -- other than that the governors file would also have to be changed, since right now it has 1861 governors -- but there were 2-4 things like this. We definitely recognize that the limited number of scenarios is a problem, so we'll definitely work to fix it. Just not in the coming months...

I hope its all sorted out in your expansion,as this would realy leangthen the life of the game, mods are everthing with war gaming. However that said the game as it stands is still great.I love the ACW,i look forward to playing AGEOD acw game but i must find more ram first.Gil i must say the AI is tough to beat on high levels,on full general it is a slaughter house when the AI makes its move of conquest.I wopnder has anyone beat the AI at fullgeneral all advance options,i will keep trying till i beat it,but i would sure like to know if anyone has won. Also i think this game would play awesome vs a human,is anyone still doing pbem,if so ill be happy to fight someone.
