Gunboats as River Barriers

Post by Leeds »

If I place my Gunboats in river provinces, will they also restrict enemy movement into or across these provinces?

Thanks

Nope.....if the gunboat is the only unit besides garrisons in a province and a single enemy unit moves there, the gunboat will retreat all on it's own.

I do not even build the things. But I have heard that they help with river sieges. Have not figured that out yet. I even scrap all my gunboats and naval shipping on day 1.......but I play as Rebs.

[&o][&o][&o]So not only me then [:D]

And if they are at the end of a river leaving them no place to retreat they are destroyed if the enemy captures that last piece of river
