One more question about research costs

Post by kirk1226 »

Ok, evertime I think I have a handle on this something doest add up. Ive tried restarting a number of games with different settings to see how that affects the numbers. On the latest game I started as the union, coming fury scen., corporal level, +3 strongest union and weakest -3 AI Confederate. Now on the 2nd turn when I go into the screen that shows you the economy report income by province it showed for mass. that I had 7 pnts. for weaponry res. Now, just from messing around with the settings, it looked to me like that was bec. I had on armory +3, then +3 for my stronget union setting and +1 for the univ. in mass(boston). However, just when I think I have this prob. fig. out I look at Annapolis which shows 10 naval res. pnts. I have 2 Nav. coll. so +6, then +3 for my strong. union setting and thats 9 not 10. No gov. support or non support involved and no richer or pooer economy. I had a sim. sitiuation in chicago but there it was showing 1 less than what I had calculated. What else could I be missing and thanks for not charging me for all this help Terje.:) Kirk Hiutzel

I think I figured out my question. Because my setting in on strongest for the union, I have to add 75% to my research total. So, I have one armory +3 and one university +1 in Bost. Mass. which=4. 4 times .75=3. 4 and 3 are 7. In Annapolis, 2 naval colleges, 3+3=6. 6 times .75=4.5. 6 and 4.5=10.5 rounded down=10. The governor effects do not really show unless on is looking at the national totals for the various research categories ie. weaponry, training, log. etc. Now, I wouldnt be suprised if Im way off on here, but it would be much appreciated if someone out there would confirm what Im saying here. Thanks kirk hutzel
