Turn Thirty-Seven, July 1864 continued. As it turned out, those mistakes did end up costing me the battle...

Turn Thirty-Eight, August 1864 continued. The results of the battles. Erik rope-a-dopes me. Lyon slaps around Smith, and Thomas takes Little Rock in a daring amphibious invasion from the Arkansas River.

Turn Forty, October 1864. Grant changes direction and goes East. Bo's army is out of position to oppose this directly.

Turn Forty, October 1864 continued. The final SitRep. Beauregard attacks at Tupelo, hoping to draw Grant (or good portion of his forces) back from his Eastward drive.

Turn Forty-One, November 1864. The results of the battle of Tupelo, and the election. A Pyrrhic victory for the Union, and a lame duck president. Much rejoicing at Thanksgiving this year in the South.

RE: Yankee go home! (Erik Rutins not allowed)
Turn Forty-One, November 1864 continued. A quiet ending for the turn. Bo didn't get initiative (only a small corps in his army, hence the red arrow) and so didn't launch another attack at Tupelo.

Turn Forty-Two, December 1864. Christmas comes and it's quiet. Obviously men are spending this one with their families, instead of slaughtering one another.

Turn Forty-Three, January 1865. A new year dawns, and Erik's generals have been sent on their fools errands by the lame duck. Haven't enough died for a Union that should have been dissolved peacefully?

RE: Yankee go home! (Erik Rutins not allowed)
Turn Forty-Three, January 1865 continued. Grant easily forced the Tennessee River at Florence, so I'm gathering an army to oppose him in Tennessee, while hitting Tupelo again. Also, Kirby Smith is attacking at Little Rock. If I can take both these regions, I might be able to end the game in March. Erik has graciously declined the offer to resign, and will play out to the end. He will not deny me the hard-earned fruits of seeing the victory screen.

RE: Yankee go home! (Erik Rutins not allowed)
I've invited Erik to look at this last page, as well, since it does seem like it will end his next turn. It's been a blast, and we're both stoked and eager for a rematch.
