Bragg was Misuderstood! Chicamauga Baby...

Post by John 3rd »

This is the beginning of a new battle between Nemo (Fionn) and myself. After much discussion we are playing out Scenario 10b of the Chicamauga Battle! It will be bloody and close quarters.

I'll pull up the map in the next post. The battle covers FAR more territory then Gettysburg so it will be interesting.

Nemo and I are following the two new House Rules we agreed upon in the Forum:
1. Melee will be determined by the quality of a unit plus the influence of its leader.
2. Movement will be halved to slow down the action.

Thoughts????

Good luck! I've glanced at the disposition of forces and terrain and will be interested to see what strategies the two of you employ.

My initial thoughts on cutting movement points in half is that movement will slow to a crawl because of the terrain involved. Was this accomplished by editing the PDT file?

I agree... the terrain will slow things down considerably so cutting movement rates may eliminate maneuver and turn the battle into a line on line slug fest that won't be that interesting to watch.
Signature? Maybe someday over the rainbow.

I fear they're right. If you cut movement in half you can move only one hex through forest...and since so much of it is forest, it'll be slowing things down to a crawl. I reckon you're alright leaving movement as it is.
