Manassas 1st Bull Run (and 2nd)

Post by marenghino »

Hi all

I have seen on NSD forum some threads with "modification screen" pictures where there are, among the mods installed, the following entries:
Manassas 1st Bull Run 1861
Manassas 2nd Bull Run 1862

In other words they show there should be two mods about Manassas, but I did not find them in the NSD forum, anyone have a link for them ?

and there is a thread about Manassas:
“New Map - Manassas 12 mile square 144 square miles”
https://norbsoftdev.net/index.php/kunen ... t=30#77905

Here again another thread but no working links:https://norbsoftdev.net/index.php/kunen ... ps-2#78924
unfortunately the link in that thread is offline ... does anyone has it to download it ?

If anyone have informations about that, please tell me

I just noticed this old post. I’m not sure this is what you looking but might help. MarkT’s Bull Run maps are available as part of a Zip package.

I’m always hunting for new maps, especially those I can use for sandbox play.

Hi, a great thank you for your answer

Please look at this link
https://norbsoftdev.net/index.php/kunen ... 2-download

here you will find a picture of a "modifications screen" where there are, within others, two mods called:
Manassas 1st Bull Run 1861
Manassas 2nd Bull Run 1862

these are the two mods I am looking for

But again a great thank you for the link you gave me :-)

I've been working on a 1st Manassas project for a few years and was just getting into the AI scripting when the "clean break" from the old SOW was announced. If completed it will cover the whole battle using Mark T's extensive Summertime Manassas map and published OOB's. I have many hours of work needed yet to finish it for both sides and MP.

As anyone who has designed SP SOWG scenario knows, scripting the AI is no easy task, much less the final polishing needed for immersion. My question is out of curiosity, is anyone out there actively interested in seeing this published, or should I wait for the new version? My time with wargame projects is limited so I need more than a passive "you should do it anyway" response.

Thanks for your honest responses. This is still a great system after all the years!

I would be very interested in this! I have always wanted to work on scripting AI for this game. Do you know of any good tutorials where I can learn the basics of doing this for SOWGB? (And SOWWL possibly if its much different)
