Britain surrendering

Post by lettowvorbeck »

Playing with the latest patch... I've finished two games as the Central Powers and the British have surrendered in both, once in 1917 and one in 1916. Both were rather inexplicable as I've never used U-boats to any great effect (and never built a single one), and I go on the defensive in the west after early 1915. So basically they gave up because of occasional artillery bombardment and local counterattacks to contain minor breakthroughs. Seems the Brits are a bit too fragile in the game.

Noticed in my last two CP games that knocking off Holland, Belgium and Italy late in the war hits Britain's morale hard. I started a major U-boat campaign in summer 1916 but it was torn to shreds by the French and Brit DD's and didn't accomplish much at all.

That was one of the things that disappointed me most in my last game - Britain giving up while the Entente still had a good chance of winning. Surrendering should be tweaked when playing an AI Britain.
