RE: Replacements Used so far
At least 6000 or 7000 units, but im using a combination of DD's, CA' CL and even BB to fast transport. Im using very low aggressive leaders so they will try to avoid a fight with the enemy. Problem with fast transport, im getting alot of system damaged most ships are between 8 or 9 already.

RE: Planning is still going ahead.
Think longer term. No need to rush into this now. You have 4 years there is no autovictory. Those are some worthless units the jap divisions are 250-380 AP and you will need way more then you have now to dismount the japs.
Also if he was me i'd keep a weak outer permeter at PI and keep clark and manilla loaded to respond to any attacks. So just bid your time are you really in a hurry?
Remember you have the advantage you will only get stronger as he gets weaker. Be cautious and be slow. He's going to think you will attack soon and that way he can crush your units piecemeal. You can harass with your navy but keep the troops prepping for manilla and in 6 months launch. Give him time to get overconfident and take a chance.
I just dont want you to blow this one.

RE: Planning is still going ahead.
Chestypuller,
You're right there aint any rush, and I should by right think long term. I was just thinking of rushing into Manila, with all those guys, it just gives me greater chance of holding onto it. Most of the units are prep for Manila and they already around 50's already. The chances of me stopping his troops will be small. Because he has so much there.
Anyway I guess I can put these units on standby when the odds dont look good in Manila I can start sending them slowly by slowly. Anyway India and malaya is pretty boneless in terms of defense.
What I need to do is split his forces up. If I attack north of PI, say Lingayen or San Atros I can make him reduce the pressure in Manila and he divert forces to clark field or engage me where he is. However I dont have much of a navy to stop him blockading me when his navy comes.
Regarding Davao well it seems to be a safe place to take so he can divert his forces, perhaps I can take out some of his transport ships out when he tries to recapture it. But I just dont want to lose Manila. Im going to hold it at all cost now. Its a morale issue on me[:D]

Loss ratio is in your favor - but question is - if he can bring his BtlFlt to the area and you have nothing to contest the seas - can he thus gain sea superiority - to permit his own reinforcement and deny yours ?

At the moment I am holding out on Manila well. [:D] How long is the question.
About his fleet well . I estimate his got only 30 % of his combat fleet remaining. BillWheatly lost alot of ships at Pearl. So the Brits should be able to match them when the times comes. Im going to try to retreat from every fight until all my full fleet arrives.
Fast transporting is starting to be a problem now. He has mined and position a number of coastal guns in the Bataan Hex. If I bring in Mine sweepers, they may be blown to bits. Im sending in another fast transport this round so hopefully they can arrive safely and avoid current surface threats around Manila.

RE: Japanese deliberate attack again
DDs have some minesweeping ability in the game ... actually by the end of WWI most warships were equiped with paravane or equivalent devices ... though it is hard to imagine anyone sending in some dreadnoughts to sweep mines !!! ... but anyway ... you will lose some DDs but they are not helpless against mines ... the coastal guns however, may take a toll.
I haven't tried submarine supply transport in WPO .. but in WITP it certainly works to some extent ( brings in a trickle anyway ).
If your supply is dwindling for the moment, that is not necessarily disaster ... as long as you have a decent amount to hang on. Then you must hope and plan to bring in a larger amount when you have the necessary forces.
But sounds like a cliffhanger ... we're watching on the edges of our chairs !

So are you still going to go in with 7 Cruisers waiting for you or are you going to wait until they clear the area? They can't sit their forever. It takes alot of fuel to just loiter. And as we saw one goof by a captain and the guns at manilla will paste them.

RE: ,
Ouch WTF happened there? Did his Coastal guns finally start to hit? Maybe they just got a 1 time lucky shot at your ships?
Is that going to close the door to manilla or are you going to send in another ship to see if it was a one time fluke?
