Southeast Pacific
Here's the current extent of Japanese offensive. These islands are of no strategic importance as long as Allies control them; they are usually bypassed as Baker island or even New Guinean holdings are built up. However, in Japanese hands they become submarine and raider bases, and that is a concern.

8/26/22 - 8/28/22
The logistics of this offensive is amazing. These ships had to have launched from Kwajalein to be able to bring destoyers and some older cruisers this far out.
As much as it hurts to keep losing southeast holdings... it's nice to see IJN waste more and more of that precious fuel.

RE: 8/29/22 - 9/1/22
I haven't looked at this version of the scenario so don't really know all there is to know about the balance - so just a couple of thoughts.
01 - Seems like to get any real "historical" victory - the Americans might have to treat this as a "thrusters" scenario. Grab everything they can and rush to reinforce, support the PI. Not sure how to support that logistically in the game - the Americans would have to take LOG bases on the way and be able to hold them. That would be the tough part. I could easily see this turning in to a disaster for the Americans - but ultimately such fears were why they abandoned the Thruster idea. But it might make for a hecque of a game. Of course the VP would have to focus things on the PI bases, not sure whether they do or not.
02 - The Japanese seem to have taken heavy losses in transports and troops during the PI campaign - is that reflected in the VP? So what are the VP at now?

The balance is clearly pro-Japanese - without further reinforcements Allies pretty much have to rely on Australians and Chinese, and the latter don't move much

As for PI reinforcement, there isn't enough time and there isn't enough PP. I've tried several ways to handle PI defense, and it just doesn't end up well for he Allies.
Yes, IJN did lose some ships - but nowhere nearly as much as I'm accustomed to. Having doctrines on has resulted in subs being meeker than usual...
