Concerns

This revised and updated turn-based grand strategy game from the team at AGEOD brings players back to World War I, including both the Eastern and Western fronts and over 4 campaigns and 10 scenarios. As either a member of the Central Powers, the Entente or a neutral nation, players will confront the epic gauntlet of military and political challenges that faced the likes of Kitchener, Joffre, Luddendorf, Clemenceau, Czar Nicholas II or Enver Pasha.

1. What is this? You mean pay for a game before it's out? Are you saying WW1 is a public beta?

A few days before the release, it was possible to prebuy the game and participate to the final stages of betatesting. The 2 versions, are not the same.
ORIGINAL: Adam Parker2. Actually many other companies did this before AGEOD - HPS quite famously.

I said some of those 10 points are exclusive of AGEod. [:)]
ORIGINAL: Adam Parker5. This is good? It means "lets have a paying customer do our dirty work for us".

In the 5) i spoke about public betas not pre-bought 1.0 like in this specific case. A public beta issued for a month ensures most players get the benefits while a small minority can contribute to further point out anomalies. It's a good choice that makes sense and it's never mandatory to install a public beta.
ORIGINAL: Adam ParkerUmm, why did you release the game in the first place? Money? Is this a joke?

Are you saying that since Vista has problems we should rather go back to Windows 95? [8|]

I get it! This is a joke right? [:D] Right...? [&:] I don't think you are joking are you?

A few days before the release we could buy the game... and do nothing with it. It would not unlock firstly until Nov 11 and then after people made a comment Nov 10.

Do honestly mean, believe and think that AGEOD is a great company because it released a broken game to the buying public who were then according to you, meant to Beta Test it for one day? Beta Test it at all? I call it stupidity. Others may call it fraud.

Are you to use the Matrix sanctioned Gif a ?

YOU COULD NOT PLAY THE GAME UNTIL NOVEMBER 10! HELLO! Tap. Tap.

As i said, there were 2 versions, different ones and you could either buy and play the pre release version or just wait and buy the full version and play it.
You could have seen all those who bought the beta inserting comments so that definitely means they were playing with it. [:)]

AGEod is a great company because it releases quality games, period.

The people who bought the game before its release were few and mostly unaffected by the severe bugs which have already been identified and fixed for next patch, as expected of course. With more hw coming in, more problems come in too.
The pre-release was a gamble, a risky gamble that on one side ensured immediate funding and on the other an increased number of guinea pigs for experimentation. The cost of course is the negative feedback from people who expect a fully polished version at the 1.0 release (which is impossible for any company in any gaming industry).

It is indeed a questionable choice...i questioned several times many choices they took myself, but the beta lasted more than 1 day, perhaps 2 weeks. It's definitely not a fraud as the company offered a total refund to those who didn't trust there would be a quick solution to problems.

You've got to get used to AGEod's style...the segment they dwell into is a very complex one and it takes time to make a good wargame at the abstraction level they have chosen. There are always problems at 1.0 and with AGEod there's more problems but luckily thanks to those 10 points mentioned above the good sides generally kick in almost immediately.

well I can forgive them because I haven't bought it yet...but moreso because they DO make quality games. So this one slipped.

I'll just wait.

On the other hand, I do see why people feel a little ripped off (though not now a full refund has been very generously offered).
