Merging Units

This revised and updated turn-based grand strategy game from the team at AGEOD brings players back to World War I, including both the Eastern and Western fronts and over 4 campaigns and 10 scenarios. As either a member of the Central Powers, the Entente or a neutral nation, players will confront the epic gauntlet of military and political challenges that faced the likes of Kitchener, Joffre, Luddendorf, Clemenceau, Czar Nicholas II or Enver Pasha.

Merging Units

Post by tgb »

Since so many people are having problems moving or merging units, I just want to point out that it's a lot easier and more forgiving when you use counters for some reason, instead of the little animated armies.

It also helps watching the tooltip. As soon as the army tooltip (instead the one of the region) appear, you found the right spot. [:)]

I just found a very easy way to merge units, into an Army HQ anyway. All you have to do is to get the unit into the same area (either moving or as reinforcement drop) and then select the unit. The lone unit(s) will have the same white arrows below its panel to move it to the rest area, or into reserves. By placing it into the reserve, it is immediately transfered into the Army.

Hopefully there is another trick for merging infantry corps.

Yeah, but there's a limit to the reserves - in most cases it's 2 (not counting support units). Plus how do you get it out again?

Out of reserve : via the same "arrow" button, the corps goes back to the Army stack.

It should be able to just to "grab" the corp out of the army dialog box and re-drop it onto the map, right on the HQ. This should separate it again.
I will confirm this shortly. The only scenario that will run for me at this time is the Serbian battle. On the bright side, it does not take long. [:D] I actually was able to play it all the way through.

This does work. You just need to put the corp into the first line again before separating it from the army.
