Which version to buy?

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

gamersgate is the only place i'd buy it. Matrix is great when there the sole distributor, but when there not the patches don't usually stay current. Patching does suck at first, if you read the thread, you know that. Once you do it right it's no biggy. Gamersgate will probably have the lastest of everything so you might be fine. Here's a shot of what current.

a side note. If you have to patch, watch your install directory. People have said don't install the main program in program files folder, but during my many patch related re-installs mine ended up there and is working fine.Basically the core engine updates run themselves and the patches and polgon updates you use the game updater to install, like i said you just have to watch the install directory and do things in the right order. The game is worth it, and gamersgate might have their versions up to date. That won't be the case here.

Here's a link to a more active forum for the game, the developer spends alot of time there.
