Mius Front 43 new game GT:MF

Achtung Panzer:Operation Star is an Eastern Front wargame with solid graphics and sprawling battlefields that really emphasize the scope of WWII tank combat. The gameplay is a remarkably realistic turn-based and real-time operational/tactical hybrid wargame that continues the series begun by the acclaimed Achtung Panzer: Kharkov 1943.

I shall be buying this..something I'd like to see but is minor is some different faces for the soldiers...I know you don't really get down at that level when playing but for screenies it would look cool.

I would like to see more individual modeling to the infantry also.
I don't look at the faces much during the battle, but before and after I look very close at everything.

What's funny is if you look at the Germans and SADF their faces look hideous,I tend to think this was done purposely and lends me to believe there is a level of Russian bias to these games.Night-Postman has cleaned that up a bit in his uniform mods. But,I still think We are only getting the Russian version of events when it comes to these games regardless of Andreys opinion to the contrary.

The way the campaigns play out and the way German 1/2 tracks and open topped SPGs keep leading assaults and pursuing the infantry into woods and towns to be destroyed by Russian infantry that seem to have more KS bottles than rifle ammo really grates my ass.No matter how hard I try to keep my HTs and SPGs behind the main line of assault, they just don't listen and follow orders and make every effort to drive towards their eventual doom.[:@]

Can't tell this to Andrey He doesn't want to hear it.I mainly just want HTs to transport the infantry and drop them off a safe distance from the front and have the infantry act completely independent of the HTs but I can never get the filter to do this properly.

The Mius Front game should be interesting since it will be the Germans on the defense mostly with maybe elements of a PzGr division for counter attacking.I don't think there will be any Pz or SS divisions(so not many HTs) for the initial campaign of GTMF.I think the germans are going to be hard pressed not having 88mm FLAK guns to cover the rear areas and combat those new SU SPGs.The Germans still don't have any decent AT capability at the infantry platoon level(No PFs yet)So it looks like they will be mainly relying on AT guns and lightly armored SPGs with some stugs being their only real mobile heavy hitter.

I had hoped that Graviteam was going to depict the counter attack by the II SS Corps in this sector that happened later also in the new game, but Andrey said no just the initial opening battles[:(].From what I understand the SS lost more tanks in the counterattack in this area than they lost during the Kursk campaign.

I've stopped posting at Graviteam as to be honest Andrey not listening and making odd replies to legitimate issues drove me mad. (not sure if it's his lack of English or just refuses to see any wrong in the game)

Andrey can be a little perplexing and argumentative at times, but do think if you can present an issue in a convincing way with a photo or some documentation or web link He can be persuaded to look further into an issue and maybe make changes at a later date eventhough he may come off very defensive in the beginning.

Deep military discussions with him though tend to get a little weird with Google translator involved and I think it is responsible for him missing some valid points I try to make. When He goes off on his "that's crazy or this is fantasy" line of discussion I usually just concede the argument to him but leave a I'm not convinced and believe what you like idea as a parting shot.

Though I don't seem to be very convincing to him during my online discussions with him, I do notice some of my ideas in the game at later dates,so I do believe He listens although He may not initially agree.

He said that there is a DLC in development right now about "Spherical tanks in a vacuum".I have absolutely no idea what that means and asked for some clarification, but He said that we will see later when there is something to show and that other players have requested it.

I'm hoping it's my idea of having NATO and Warsaw Pact forces in the game even if it doesn't come with a campaign scenario or map( I'm pretty sure that trying to map a decent Central Europe campaign map is very costly and probably the biggest issue for not doing NATO vs Warsaw Pact) but I would still like those forces so that they can be used in conjunction with the other maps already in the game.

We'll see but I'm not holding my breath.

I think He meant that Graviteam will not make a map or campaign game about NATO vs Warsaw Pact.

But I don't think they are against the idea of making a DLC that has 1970s or 1980s Warsaw Pact or NATO forces that can be used in the Quick Battle force mix.

To tell you the truth I'm surprised they are doing a hypothetical Iran vs Soviet Union in Afghanistan.

When Andrey mentioned Spherical tanks in a vacuum, and I may be jumping to conclusions here but I take to be some sort of force mix not rooted to a real or hypothetical campaign or war.

I could be wrong and only time will tell what He actually meant by that.
Mostly wishful thinking on my part.

I've seen no hint of anyone in the Russian community or European or American community for this game ever asking for or wishing for space tanks or any other sci-fi stuff.

Lots of interest in Warsaw Pact and NATO stuff though.
Flashburn has put his Longstop,Tunisia project on hold to make some modern NATO stuff and Alex in the Russian community has already
made A Milan and Dragon ATGM also saw a picture in the Russian forums of a T-72 that was on a Summer Rakitnoe map.

Like I stated earlier I may be jumping to conclusions purely based on my own wishes, but the NATO and Warsaw Pact forces is very doable with what is already been modeled for this game.

Dane I've replied to your petty little comment over at Graviteam...let yourself down there in ym opinion.

I shall no longer bother conversing with you from now on in any forum.
