Questions

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

Questions

Hi all, looking for a little insight into this game. It looks very interesting, but is it different than BIN and BII? I have both of those, and just cant seem to really get into them. This game seems a little smaller in scope (which I like) and maybe a little deeper in detail?

Thanks in advance for the comments

I think this game will turn into a sleeper hit once people cotton on to the features that are not overly apparent on first look.

The interface mechanics are similar to the DB series but it's leaning more to a 'grand tactical' than 'operational' game - most units are battalions with companies also represented.

Combat is now more detailed with a choice of close combat, direct and indirect fire (for artillery).  Take direct fire for example - there are modifiers based on the type of target, target terrain and ordnance used, which gives some flavour to direct fire tank battles for example.

There is nothing more satisfying than sending in your infantry in close combat against a unit in cover, forcing a retreat (chance of retreat is now a separate dice roll from the combat roll) into open and then following up with a direct fire volley from your favourite armour unit and knocking off the final step [:)]

Heaps of other good, well thought out features.

But certainly, I find the 'immersion' level better due to a reduction in unit scale.

I could go on, but I had better get back to work!

There are “defence”  supply trucks that work the same as in the previous games.  But there are also attack HQs. These provide attack supply only to the units of it’s own division.

As a result you can run out of attack supply and your attack stalls – just as in real life!

And air and artillery can attack SPs and  units weakening them before you attack.  An excellent feature!

This is best game of the series by far!

This might sound dumb, but it happened to me, I had written the serial # down wrong. Also, check if a `zero' is an `o', or vice versa.

If the serial number allowed you to install, then you had it right. However, we've seen a few instances where overly-aggressive security programs can prevent the game reading the serial number when it launches and in some cases prevent the serial number being correctly installed. My first recommendation would be to shutdown your security programs (if any) before running the game and also to try a uninstall/reinstall with all security/anti-virus software set off.
