4 New Scenarios

Battlefront features the power of battalion-level combat in some of this period's most bloody and intense conflicts: Saipan, Market Garden, Novorossisk, and Gazala. Players will have realistic control over their soldiers, with a tactical scale just large enough to make a telling difference in the strategic picture.

I'm not a regular here, but this thread made me come here.

Well done, i's not without time, a further idea if I might, many people complain about the difficulty in doing a scenario . Why not to do a small 'how to' file, covering for example doing a small 10x10 or so hypothetical scenario, just to make more people go onto scenario making?...

Yeah the lack of a scenario design "how to" file is dissapointing in BF. However the upcoming Disaster On The Donets will have a thorough editor manual included with the game which should hopefully make scenario making alot easier to understand. Fingers crossed on that.

I forgot to mention that the scenarios above are pretty huge, so anyone complaining about moneys worth with BF can now stop complaining! Long time to wait but we have some progress finally.

Im not sure HercMighty. I think Stalingrad is currently PBEM only.

Nordwind has AI.

Prokhorovka and Kanev im not sure either. Best thing to do is to go through the threads over at RUN5. Maybe the answers are there. I dont have time otherwise id answer you right now. I dont know how easy the cards AI system in BF is to use. From ememory it was pretty hard to use.

Cheers

That will hardly solve the issue for Battlefront though. I will not spend money on a one scenario-some variants game, I will wait until there are enough scenarios out and then buy it, same thing I'll do with Battlefront.

I think this was another reason scenario development lagged. Not only do I think it was hard to use but wasn't documented well either.

I didnt say it would solve the issue with Battlefront. I did say its nice to finally see some scenarios for the game. If you dont think that there are enough scenarios to warrant your purchase, fair enough. 2 of the scenarios above are pretty huge and would take a fair amount of time to play through.

The editor for BF is never going to be properly documented as far as i can tell, nor the AI system, which is a shame, but the scenarios that have just been made add to the originals plus Brubakers Crusader and take the total number up to 9. Thats not bad at all and certainly makes this game last a long time/worth a purchase if your playing via PBEM.

Those that dont own the game are probably best to wait for DotD to come out as thats going to have alot of scenarios made for it over the coming years and is the engine SSG will be releasing the next few titles with. For those of us that own BF, the new scenarios can only be good news.

This scenario is a huge 52 turn PBEM only battle, heres the design notes from the link above...

Sorry, i forgot to mention Nordwind is a fictional battle, fairly small but ive played through several times and its well balanced and good fun in PBEM. Cheers.

No, as far as im aware, they are currently PBEM. This is due mainly to the amount of time it takes to code the AI and the fact that the RUN5 community want their hands on them to play via PBEM as soon as they are finished, which i understand is not for everyone. I also love playing the AI, but PBEM is the most fun way to play SSG's games in my opinion.

The AI is in the works though and will be added as a patch to the scenario at a later date.

The way to play these is PBEM. Nothing can compete with a working human brain! [;)]

No it is not a fictionnal one. It is the north pincer of german offensive in Vosges Sector (january 45).
It's just bullshit !
