Back Up of Digital Download

Post by canuckgamer »

I have never purchased a game using a digital download but I see that the digital download version is much cheaper then the disk version. Can the digital download version be burned on to a disk? If not, what happens if I have to reinstall it again? Thanks.

... and make sure you either write the serial number on the disk you burn it to or write it somewhere it won't be lost ... you'll have to have it when you patch up.

... the serial number is critical

I aways register my new games serial numbers here: http://www.matrixgames.com/members/

This has been invaluable in the past.

Yup, register the game and you will be fine. I unfortunately didnt register HTTR and lost the CD key + deleted the order confirmation e-mail and matrix wont give me my download back even though i DID purchase the game. So beware.

Why they cannot track credit card transactions i do not know. And before anyone says it, i entered the card i purchased the game with (and all of my games for that matter) and that game AND a load of other games i have the CD keys for and HAVE registered didnt show up. So go figure.

As others have already noted, register your Matrix games! It takes seconds, and could potentially save you grief down the road.

Register, burn a cd with your game and a word document with the cd key in it and SAVE the confirmation e-mail.

Hey, I didn't know about the registration thing! I keep two backups of all my downlaoded games, one on my backup hard drive and one on CD, with text files with the SN in them, but it is nice to have that extra level of security.

Thanks, y'all!
