victory level

Post by philsublime »

First of all: great game! easy to get into, scenarios are playable in a relatively short time, graphics are stylish - I love it! I just have to figure out a way to win, instead of losing big time...

I have a question regarding the victory screen. I just played the wake island scenario and won a decisive victory as the allies. But when I payed close attention to the numbers, I noticed, this can't be! (Or maybe I am getting something wrong...) I scored about 120 points from ships and planes, and none from objectives. The japanese AI scored something like 800 points and fullfilled it's objective. So, this makes -680 points for me. In a small box the different victory levels are listed, and it says > 0 --> decisive victory. Now, in my case it should be a decisive victory for the japanese! It messes up the - in -60... Or am I wrong...

Hi Phil,
If you would like to send through a save game we could tell you why you got a decisive victory (send to support@ssg.com.au) but i would suspect that this was due to the fact that the axis didnt finish their invasion of Wake Island. In the victory screen, select the axis side, and double check that the condition to invade wake island has been fully completed (and is no longer active). If you managed to sink a couple of transports, or scared them off with the threat of an attack, then they might not have completed their invasion condition within the scenario timeframe.

I checked on that, but I don't think this is the problem. How do I get a savegame from this? I already started a new scenario...

If you havent turned off the autosave option, then the game saves the game automatically every hour. They are stored in the "Saves\Autosaves\" directory off the main game folder, in a folder that is named as a timestamp of when you started the game. The last autosave will be the end of game save.

Hi Phil,
Just checked out your save game and the reason you are getting a decisive victory is because the axis side did not invade Wake Island. If you go to the victory screen at the end of the game, then select the axis side in the "Side Select" frame, you will see that the conditional mission "Deliver 11 CPs To Wake Island" has it's "Best Result If Failed" written in bright orange to indicate that it's active. Also, if you check at the bottom of the victory screen for the same side, you will see that wake island had 9/13 cargo points delivered - 9 points is under the 11 required for the conditional mission to be completed.
