locked up in withdraw phase

Post by Bulldog1 »

Playing the AI in Anzio scenario as Germans.A unit withdrew and then program stated it was eliminated. After that, the game locked up in withdraw phase. I can't advance to next phase. I have attached a game file to see if someone in support can take a look. Can game be saved? Is this a bug?

Yep I use Vista 64, and I had to run as admin and XP compatibility. It locked up on me too. So far, knock on wood, it has been running pretty good. PBEM is working so far too.

It's a FANTASTIC game.

I decided to take a look.

Technically, it's not a lock-up. It's just that you've most likely come into an unexpected situation here and the menu just doesn't have any other recourse to let you skip by past.

The menu still wants to know if we want to center on the unit, or skip to any other possible withdrawers, but since we can't center on a unit which no longer exists, we are somewhat trapped, haha. (At least this is my theory from a quick scan.).

Seems your H/157 really gave the allies the last laugh after its withdraw check rolls.

I tried switching sides, and even switching to an XP from Vista but no luck. As I said, it's not really a crash but for all intense & purposes it might as well be in this particular situation. I'll see if Cooney can take a look at it.

Thanks Sabre1 for sharing your set-up.

OK Obsolete thanks for taking a look, going forward I will run as admin and XP compatibility. Just hate to get involved with game only to have to start over.

I like this game and the unpredictability of units withdrawing causing a player to hold reserves (like a real commander). This game would probably port over to a American civil war game easily.
