Impression of BiI

Battles In Italy is the fourth game in the award-winning Decisive Battles of WWII game series from Strategic Studies Group. Battles in Italy recreates all aspects of the Italy campaign, from the landings on Sicily to Salerno, Anzio and Rome. Strategic Studies Group has again updated the Decisive Battles game engine for Battles in Italy with campaign specific features and other enhancements.

And bostonrpgmania i have tried Squad battles and there is no magic under the hood for me they are just a bit lame,i got board real fast but PZC are another story

I like modern campaigns by Tiller too

Just read this thread. Very interesting actually. For me, playing BiN always felt very chesslike. Not that this is a bad thing, but it makes it kind of hard, because you can't make a lot of mistakes.
Personally I always get drawn back to SB games. There, I feel like I'm in command. But it's always a joy to play BiN or BiI, once in a while.[:)]

A matter of taste maybe, but in any case, one must understand the game mechanics, to even get the chance of being immersed.[;)]

Heh...

Ive since left SB behind me. For awhile I got sucked in but a couple of major design faults in the end made me turn away from the game. The games have massive potential but it doesnt go the one step extra thats needed.

I bought BiI. I love the look of the game but like whats been said before it feels to much like chess.

I have PzC El Alamien which Ive not really started learning yet. However it may become a favourite.

Im really waiting for Combined Arms and CL.

Oh yeah and a PzC Stalingrad.

BII is something you either love or hate. Every game is different! Enjoy :)
