TAO3 question for the testers or Ross

Korsun Pocket is a the second game using the award winning SSG Decisive Battles game engine. Korsun Pocket recreates the desperate German attempt to escape encirclement on the Russian Front early in 1944. The battle is a tense and exciting struggle, with neither side having a decisive advantage, as the Russians struggle to form the pocket, then try to resist successive German rescue efforts and last ditch attempts at breakout.

TAO3 question for the testers or Ross

Post by U2 »

Hi!

Would any of you guys say that the graphics are better than in TAO2? What about sound and the music for the game, do they help create a good wargaming atmosphere?

Yes I like the graphics far more than in TAO2. There isnt a great difference. I really like the map in Korusn. At present in the scenario I am playing via PBEM a change in weather has brought a thaw and the map has changed. This I really like.

Did you not like the graphics in TAO2 Dan? I used to like them quite a lot.

I think it is fair to say that the graphics in TAO3 have been enhanced to suit bigger and better monitors. The maps are certainly more detailed and have additional features not present in the older game.

Hi!

Thanks Ross and BrubakerII. I really like the info you gave Ross on how the map changed after the type of weather one is having.
Oh and I did like the graphics in TAO2 Brubaker but one can always hope for more:)

Hi Dan

Yes indeed dependinbg on the weather the map in TAO3 changes! Initially it begins as a frozen wasteland ie. mostly white - but then as the thaw begins the map changes entirely and looks to be shades of brown etc. Of course this is just not superficial, the movement OP penalties change accordingly and things become much more difficult. The winter to thaw change is not a one off either; it happens several times from one to another during a campaign, acurately reflecting the change in seasons! Woo hoo.
